March in Venice: surprise proposals and engagement

March in Venice is a time of new beginnings and romantic moments. The
city is a perfect backdrop for proposals and engagement photo-sessions
with its enchanting atmosphere, stunning architecture, and picturesque
canals. If you’re planning a surprise proposal or engagement shoot in
Venice this March, here are some tips to make the most of your
experience. You can always contact me for a more personalized view.

Firstly, the city will be way less crowded with tourists compared to how it is during peak
seasons, so there would be more flexibility in picking the best time around late afternoon. This
way, you can avoid the crowds and have a more intimate and romantic
experience. It’s also important to plan ahead and book your photographer
in advance to secure availability, I try to only book a single session per day to offer a better service.

Where to propose in March.
Last year I wrote a blog post on ”where to propose in Venice” and it is still rather current.  One of the most popular locations for proposals and engagement photo-sessions in Venice is Piazza San Marco. The square is surrounded by beautiful historical buildings and offers a stunning view of the Basilica di San Marco and the Campanile. It is far from being my favorite place because I find that it lacks intimacy as there will be a lot of people around. This can actually appeal some couples so it is an option, this link will open a gallery from a proposal at Caffé Florian

My favorite place is the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, it is super quiet but has a very nice view and The doge palace will be part of the background.

For those who prefer a more secluded and peaceful location, the island
of Burano is an excellent choice. Burano is known for its brightly
colored houses and peaceful canals. It’s an ideal location for capturing
the essence of Venetian romance and creating beautiful memories.
I find that often even the off the beaten path alleys of Venice are an amazing location for a proposal, maybe the names are not famous but it is the essence that makes Venice magic.

One of the most important aspects of a surprise proposal or engagement photo-shoot is capturing the moment itself in a way that coveys the emotions of the moment. As a photographer, I find it important to be discreet and to capture the genuine emotions of the couple. This is where experience and skill come into play, as it takes a certain level of expertise to anticipate the right moment and capture it in a beautiful and natural way.

In addition to capturing the moment of the proposal, engagement photo-shoots are also about capturing the essence of the couple’s love story. It’s important to choose locations that are meaningful to the couple and to incorporate their personalities and interests into the photo-shoot. This can be done through wardrobe choices, props, and posing.

In conclusion, Venice is a romantic and picturesque location for
surprise proposals and engagement photo-sessions. Whether you choose the
historic Piazza San Marco, San Giorgio Island, or the
peaceful island of Burano, or Venetian alleys the city offers a stunning backdrop for
creating lasting memories.

With careful planning
and attention to detail, a surprise proposal or engagement photo-session
in Venice can be an unforgettable experience for the couple and a
beautiful source of intimate moments when sharing these images with family, friends and who known maybe children and grandchildren.
