Milan Couple photo shoot

A Magical Anniversary Couple Photoshoot in Milan

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful surprise proposal in Venice. The couple’s journey since that moment has been nothing short of amazing: a wedding, a child, and countless memories later, here we are once again, but this time in Milan.

For their anniversary trip, I had the honor of surprising them with a photoshoot to celebrate their love story. We met at the iconic Duomo di Milano, where the city’s grandeur provided a stunning backdrop for the session.

The sunset light casting shadows on the intricate Gothic architecture set a perfect tone, adding depth and romance to each shot. As we strolled through the nearby streets, the couple’s ease and joy were palpable. The cobblestone paths and historic buildings surrounding the Duomo offered a blend of modern elegance and timeless charm, which reflected their relationship.

The day was filled with laughter and shared stories, and I couldn’t help but feel a deep connection with them, having witnessed some of their most intimate milestones. The evening concluded with a dinner at a rooftop restaurant, overlooking the breathtaking Milan skyline as the city lights twinkled below.

It was a perfect way to cap off a day full of love and memories. Capturing their continued journey was a reminder of how photography weaves moments into lasting keepsakes.

This photoshoot wasn’t just about the present; it was about honoring their past and celebrating the future.  See the full gallery of this Lovestory in Milan

Florence Surprise proposal

Surprise proposal: Florence Rose Garden

While Piazzale Michelangelo is a scenice location to admire Florence for this proposal a more romantic and intimate location was the best option, the florence Rose Garden was perfect and with a nice view on the City.

We agreed on a specific place and I’ve been waiting nearby:

Sunrise Photoshoot in Venice: Capturing the Magic

The Allure of Sunrise in Venice

Venice is a city that enchants at any hour, but there’s something uniquely magical about its beauty at sunrise. For photographers and couples seeking unforgettable images, a sunrise photography session in Venice offers a host of benefits and a few considerations.

The Benefits of a Sunrise Photosession:

The Golden Hour:
Perfect Light is one of the most compelling reasons to schedule a photoshoot at sunrise is the light. The hour just after the sun rises, known as the “golden hour,” provides the softest, most flattering natural light. This light casts a warm, ethereal glow over the canals, bridges, and historic architecture of Venice, enhancing the romantic atmosphere in a way that no artificial lighting can replicate.
Shadows are long and gentle, adding depth and dimension to your photographs.

Serenity in Less Crowded Streets:
Venice is a city that never truly sleeps, with tourists flocking to its iconic sites from dawn until dusk. However, at sunrise, the city takes on a rare tranquility. The usual crowds are absent, offering an unparalleled opportunity to capture the essence of Venice without the throngs of visitors. St. Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, and the winding canals are yours to explore in peace, allowing for more intimate and personal photos. ( a couple of very iconic location that are just perfect for sunrise now are a bit too fashionable and there are crowds of photographers waiting for the sun).

Embracing the Adventure

Waking up before dawn to navigate the quiet, dark streets of Venice can be an adventure in itself. There’s a certain thrill in moving through the city as it transitions from night to day, watching the first light of morning illuminate the waterways and ancient buildings. This adventure is not just about the destination but the journey as well, adding a memorable experience to your photosession and your day in Venice.

The Jet Lag Advantage
For travelers dealing with jet lag, a sunrise photosession can actually be a convenient choice. If you’re already awake in the early hours, why not take advantage of this time? It turns an otherwise inconvenient wakefulness into an opportunity to create stunning images without altering your schedule drastically.

Considerations: The Early Start and Popular Spots

While the benefits are numerous, it’s important to acknowledge the early start required for a sunrise session. This might be a challenge for those who are not morning people. And sunset has its own charm as well. Additionally, some of Venice’s most iconic locations can still attract a small crowd even at sunrise, especially during peak tourist season. This is something that changes drastically in the last 10 years.

Iconic Locations for Sunrise Photography Some of the best locations in Venice for capturing the sunrise include:

Punta della Dogana and The area right in front of the Doge Palace, both usually crowded, a perfectly timed taxi ride would actually get the best location and the luxury of having nobody around.

Extra bonus of a sunrise photo shoot in Venice:

first breakfast with an engagement ring as this was a sunrise surprise proposal in Venice

I feel that a good breakfast to be had after having accomplished something is an excellent reward to compensate for the early rise.

In conclusion, a sunrise photo session in Venice is a unique and rewarding experience that offers the best light and the least crowded conditions. It turns a simple photo shoot into an adventure, providing memories that will last a lifetime. Despite the early start, the opportunity to capture Venice in such a peaceful and beautiful state is well worth it. So set your alarm, prepare your camera, and get ready to see Venice in a whole new light.

Last Minute Venice Photoshoot

Last-Minute Photo Shoots in Venice: Capture Timeless Memories on a Whim

Availability is the key concern when loooking for a photographer in Venice for a lat minute photo shoot. So I leave immediately a way to send me a message via whatsapp.

Why many sessions are planned long in advance (months for weddings and weeks for surprise proposals) it is often a pleasure to meet persons that felt what a good idea it is to hire a photographer in Venice only once they were already here.

The recent unpredictability of the weather adds relevance to last minute session, often there is such a scenic sunset that it would be sad not to have it as the background for a photo session.

Venice,
the city of canals, gondolas, and timeless beauty, offers endless
picturesque spots that make it a photographer’s and travellers’ paradise.

Whether you’re
an avid traveler, a honeymooning couple, or a family seeking to capture
treasured moments, or planning a surprise proposal, an impromptu engagement session, or a
spontaneous portrait, Venice offers a unique setting that can transform
last-minute plans into unforgettable memories.

But what if you’re on a tight schedule or suddenly decide you
want to document your Venetian adventure? Don’t worry! Booking
last-minute photo shoots in Venice is easier than you think, and here’s
why you should consider it.

Why Consider a Last-Minute Photo Shoot in Venice?

1. Spontaneity Adds Charm: Sometimes, the unplanned moments create the
most memorable experiences. A last-minute photo shoot allows you to
capture the genuine excitement and spontaneity of your visit to Venice.

2. Last minute surprise proposal: your partner arranged a surprise proposal in Venice but there was no photography arranged and you wish to have engagement pictures created in the city where you said YES

3. Avoiding the Crowds: A last-minute booking can sometimes be an
advantage, as it allows you to choose unconventional times for your
photo shoot. Early mornings or late evenings can provide quieter
locations free from the usual tourist crowds.

Top Spots for a Last-Minute Photo Shoot in Venice

I’d definitely advise to meet at your hotel/accommodation, it will be much easier to arrange it and for me to find it than for you to navigate Venice, from there I can plan a nice itinerary considering the light of the day.

When to have a photoshoot in Venice?

My preference is for the light before sunset but can adapt to any condition, in this blog article I wrote more about the topic on timing and length of a photo session in Venice.

Venice Wedding portrait session

In Venice the Wedding Venue of the City Hall is called Palazzo Cavalli and it is very centrally located on Grand Canal near to Rialto Bridge (that can be seen from their balcony).

The images below show how practical it is to have a wedding session in a short time so that the guests don’t have time to miss bride and groom and without having the bride to walk too much with heels.

We started very near Campo Santa Maria Formosa:

Then we approached the bridge of sights and the area in front of the doge Palace where the gondolas are docked.
